A New Wedding Update: Wedding Colors

If you haven’t guessed by now, I decided to make this week wedding week on the blog. I had to get it off my chest for a while, so I figured, let’s filter it into the blog. Haha! Distractions!

As a web/graphic designer, I find colors to be such fun. So I was really up to the challenge when we decided to have our favorite colors, red and orange, be our wedding colors. These are usually fall colors, but we decided on a wintertime wedding. Bigger issues? We like fall-ish variations of red and orange. How should we avoid “fall”?

I decided to test out different combinations in an effort to make our colors represent us versus the season we decided to wed in (because I’m not crazy about blue, purple or white, which are generally winter colors). I stirred up the combination pictured (that ironically features a blue variation). It pulls away from the fall feeling, giving it more of a fun flare instead.

Colors are fun. But I think the funniest thing, or perhaps ironic, of all of this is that most likely, no one will remember the colors. ^^; I wonder if these wedding planning things become a waste of time at the end of the day? ^^;

So ending on the note of our colors, I’d love to share an image I found where someone used a similar combination of our colors. It made me go *squee!* because I was starting to think I might be crazy with the color choice. What do you think?

      Thanks Aunt Joyce!

      It’s been mostly fun. There have been some hiccups, but they’re minor ones. I’m enjoying myself overall. I just fear I’m driving my fiance crazy over it all. ^^;
