Selling at Fairs : Why NOT to Get Discouraged

I’ve been working really hard on close to all my spare moments on my side business that I’m slowly trying to shift more and more into the public eye. I have spent hours researching tips to business success. I whittled away hours on Pinterest for advice on craft fairs, booth set up and what people wished they had known going into their first fair. The irony of it all?

It didn’t really matter because the fair its self was just the wrong one for my product.

Wrong audience. Wrong focus. Wrong place.

And there is NO WAY to know that fact unless you are planning years in advance to scout out one particular fair and how they handle their vendors, where they put them, watch how interested the targeted crowd are in shopping with the art vendors. And guess what? Events are usually switching things up each year. Very rarely is it the same thing every year so it’s nearly impossible to predict what to expect the next year.

Bride’s Log : Day Zero : A Rocky Start

Welcome to the first Bride’s Log of the voyage known as our wedding. Buckle up, it’s going to be quite the adventure.

The weekend before we left forĀ Anaheim area, it felt like someone was trying to play a very mean joke on us.

I tried on my dress for the last time before the wedding, feeling like I hated it. Discovered a MAJOR mistake on our programs that required me to reprint all of the covers. Not only that, but we had many family members wanting to meet up before we left, my mother-in-law included, of whom I was really glad we took the time to visit. Not only was it a great step away, but she really helped me out with the Spanish programs I had yet to of gotten around to print. We finished up running errands, but even then, I felt like we’d forgotten a lot. Picked up my dad’s and Erick’s tux. Bought more ink and paper for the programs, of which I later came to the decision of bringing the printer with us to complete the programs because it was not happening over the span of the weekend.

That’s Life: A Side of Updates with some Life

I know it’s supposed to be a wedding post today and I missed Montessori Monday on Monday, but I just haven’t been feeling like posting anything this week, really. I’ve been really busy with completing two manuals for one of my classes and preoccupied thinking about the tragic events in Boston.

I’m also preparing for a day trip to Disneyland on Saturday, so my brain is a bit all over the place. We’ll see how it goes, but hopefully I’ll be back to regular posting next week. If not…then soon enough. But I really hope sooner, because I cannot wait to share about our trip! XD
